A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference.

By demonstrating dedication to five of Scouting’s core values, Cub Scouts and others can earn award ribbons to hang from the 100th Anniversary Commemorative patch. A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference is fun, engaging and—most importantly—shows America the impact of Scouting through its commitment to these values. A Year of Celebration will be in effect from Sept. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2010.

Shac information

The BSA 100 patch (earn the ribbons) is available at the scout shop for 1.99 each. Leaders track and will need to purchase the ribbons through the website.

Daycamp information

Day Camp

When: June 15, 2010 through June 18, 2010 - 8:00am-2:30PM

Location: Spring Creek Park Map Location

Deadline for turning in Early registration is Sunday, March 28. Please turn into Juli Schroeder, email her at daycamp@mypack1550.org.

Den Walker Training:

All unit leaders that are going to be a Den Walker for Day Camp MUST attend one of the following mandatory training dates.

May 15, 2010 - Location TBA starting at 9:00 am
May 24, 2010 - Location TBA starting at 7:00 pm
June 5, 2010 - Location TBA starting at 9:00 am

Staff Training: June 12, 2010 at Spring Creek Park, starting at 8:00 am

Important Forms and Information.

Just a few reminders:

All adults, including Tiger Partners, are required to be a registered BSA Adult with Youth Protection Training and Criminal Background / Sex Offender Search. Please see links above.
Each pack participating at Day Camp is required to provide AT LEAST one adult filling a staff position for every 15 campers and 1 Camp Walker for every 4 boys registered.
Medical Forms to be attached to application is the current BSA 2010 Health Form. You can find the form on the website. Portions A and C are required.
Deadline for early registration is April 1, 2010 (before Roundtable) from 5:30-7:00 pm at LDS TC Jester Building. Deadline for standard registration is April 19, 2010 from 5:30-7:00 pm at St Dunstan's Church in the Parish Hall. Deadline for late registration is May 6, 2010 (before Roundtable) from 5:30-7:00 pm at LDS TC Jester Building. This registration also included Tiger Cubs and new scouts whom joined during the Spring Rally.

NOTE: ALL SCOUTS AND ADULTS MUST REGISTERED WITH BSA AND SHOW UP ON A UNIT'S ROSTER. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL NEW APPLICATIONS ARE TURNED INTO COUNCIL IN A TIMELY MANNER.

Scout Fair Sales End 4/14

Hello Scouters!

Scout Fair Sales are coming to an end. Our final Booklet and Money turn in is this Wednesday Night. Please contact your leader and make arrangements to hand in your unsold booklets and money as soon as possible.

The Scout Fair is April 24th. If you are unsure when your scheduled booth time is please check with your dens leader.

Spring Campout

This weekend in the spring campout. I know that some of you will be getting with your den leaders for information and for those that need it you can get all the information about campout including the schedule on the scout calendar.

Lemondade Houston

What is Lemonade Day?

Lemonade Day is a FUN, FREE, community wide, educational initiative where KIDS learn to start, own and operate their own business.

Kids of all ages learn to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek investors, provide customer service, and give back to their community.

I am excited to say that we are going to be able to partner with HEB again this year to help with the Souperbowl of Caring. Scouts can earn 1 hour community service for signing up as a den for a time slot. Check the calendar for more information.

PACK 1550 Is in the 1/21/10 Klein Sun....

Klein, TX January 17, 2010 -- Cub Scout Pack 1550 from Ehrhardt Elementary School, in Klein ISD is helping HEB with their Souperbowl for Caring. The boys are standing in front of HEB on Stuebner Airline and Louetta petitioning customers to buy pre-filled grocery bags of food to be donated to the Houston Food Bank. The boys are irresistible, causing many to stop and take bags of food to the check out. They will be there Saturday and Sunday January 16 and 17 and again January 23, and 24^th.
